Both, probably. Well, it would ruin the thing I was doing just then, for sure! It probably wouldn't ruin dying, but it would make it more of a downer than it needs to be.
I want to die in the middle of doing something I hate! So that I can say to myself, "well, sucks that I'm dying...but at least I don't have to do this anymore." Instead of, "Aw, man! I was really enjoying this!"
Actually, if I think about it a bit more, the perfect time to die would be: just after I've finished savoring the thorough and complete doing of something that I love, and just before I've begun to really dread the imminent doing of something that I hate.
There, now, THAT's recycled. So easy to spot 'em! And your comment, even more so!
btw. . . Brunching Shuttlecocks? Fabulous bad band name.
I say just die quickly, so you don't have time to think about the fact that you're dying or what you're doing at that moment. Immediate and painless sounds like the best plan to me.
Well, it's only recycled because I've been saying it for years! How am I supposed to express myself in terms other than what I've always believed and said, yet remain true to the inner, searching, yearning soul of my utmost me-nessess?
A question of which it might truly be said: "can not be sensibly answered."
Brunching Shuttlecocks was a humor website at one time. They may still have an archive of their stuff there.

Don't get me started on bad band names! :-)
