Depends what KIND of space ship? We talkin' Battlestar Galactica here, or just a piddly Federation shuttlecraft? Some spiffy little sports model? A big family sedan? An interplanetary recycling truck? A big honkin' Saturn V with an Apollo capsule on top? It's these kinds of questions we have to consider.
