But since I've always felt a bit sorry for his sorry ass, I don't much mind the soothing balm of consolation any such "roaring-lion" praises may lay upon him. I mean, if that were ME, I'd surely appreciate the boost!
Not that I'd ever have done such a silly, silly thing in the first place.
Dude never said zap to me, so I couldn't really say! Obviously his initial accusations proved ill-founded, but I don't know how much lying he's been doing lately. If a given sin looks good to me, that's not because the devil told me any particular lie about it!
We've all got a little bit of the accuser in us. That doesn't mean anything foreign, a diabolical power. No - it's not that we're part evil, it's just that we've got free will and we enough perception to see what our options are good AND bad. Yet since we don't necessarily have the depth and subtlety to see God's plan, we may find ourselves thinking HEY! I COULD HAVE SET THIS UP BETTER!
Ultimately, I think it's easier for people to believe someone's lying to them than it is for them to believe they're lying to themselves.
