A soaringly altruistic sentiment! For how indeed can one be happy? And how can one be happy as others go on suffering? Yes, it is the interconnectedness of us each and all that will blaze our common path forward into a golden and happy thing-place.
"I do not see why man should not be just as cruel as nature."
That's kind of unobservant of him. #1 if he can't see that it's far more than already so. #2 if he can't see why it shouldn't be.
