The pictures do him justice. His laid-back, "let me hang with you", cat-but-person (I know you say dog, but I say person) type temperament is evident.
You clearly loved him into a pretty fantastic life, and I think that's what cats desire more than anything. In fact, being loved, thought of, respected for what you are, and cared for is pretty darn terrific life for anyone. You gave him your all as well. Even in your dreams!
