You know what I say? Screw posterity! Yeah, they think they're so cool because they get to live in the future. With all their inventions, and advances, and maybe even stuff like World Peace (whether or not it was spurred by a global traumatic crisis such as alien invasion or zombie apocalypse). Screw them! Who are the ones that put them there, I'd like to know? We did! They got to the future on our backs! Yet they denigrate us as so many unenlightened, unevolved philistines and savages.
Well SCREW THEM!! If that's the attitude they take, I say we don't give them any great future to feel so smug about! I say we squander and deplete all our natural resources, kill off or domesticate as many interesting species as possible - you want wildlife? It's at the ZOO, chump! I say we quash innovation - quit developing all these wonderful technological inventions, only to hand them off to a bunch of arrogant, ungrateful descendants!
Holy cow. What is history coming to when the people who do all the hard work in the here-and-now are shoved unceremoniously aside and practically spat upon? We put in all this work to drag ourselves out of the morass that was left to us by centuries of ignorant, superstitious reprobates and into a veritable golden age of modern morals and conveniences, and what do we get for it? What kind of gratitude does posterity give us for it?
Scant.
That's what kind of gratitude they give us: scant.
Well if that's the case then I say, screw them.
