Name That Tune #4!

"Before, I believed that today was not going to arrive
I beheld illumination in the shadow of the glowing orb after dawn
my glowing orb after dawn is a pharmaceutical substance that carries me close
to the youth I lost, supplanted by a scared feeling.
Before, I believed that today was not going to arrive
that my existence would rely on the glowing orb after dawn"

I really need to download me some New Order. How could I not know this one? Kills me. Well, not really, but it is kind of sad, what with my grasp on useless tidbits of knowledge.

New Order: True Faith.

Elliott, what kills me is, how could you not name that tune?

Mel with the steal! How many is that for you Mel, is this your 3rd or 2nd? You're cleaning up! Go 'Australian contingent'! Despite your supposed "global time-clock disadvantage" - hah!

Elliott, I bet if you listen to it, you have heard this song. This is literally the biggest hit they had. The video too, ought to be a trip down memory lane. That thing burned itself in indelibly, for me at least. A whole new kind or style of...something.

Oh, I know the song, love the song. Know it well. But I couldn't identify it, so I had to Google the bits and bobs that I could surmise. Apparently the tune means more to me than the lyrics.

Ah!

Well, Google's no disqualifier here! I figure, since all the words are changed, it still presents a certain amount of challenge, right? So feel free!

I love this song. I love a lot of their stuff. They're a great band.

Aw, I feel bad for Elliot. Shades of my “Milkshake” debacle. I’m happy for him to have my point, he posted yonks before me. Or I can go 0.5 on this and share it. I can’t even claim to be a big N.O fan, I only have iPodaged Crystal and 60 Miles an Hour.

(Not sure how many I was on already – there was AC/DC and Even Flow, I think that’s it ?? – yeah, it must be)

(I refuse to past-tense them)

I missed a 'Milkshake' debacle? Damn!

@Mel - neither of those are really options, since it is I the brutally strict quizmaster who awards the points (oh, by the way it's you 3, Seanibus 1 so far!). But I do respect and praise your generosity. You're a kinder soul than you care to admit.

If I had to guess, I think Elliott held off on guessing because he felt that to his own high standard, he didn't deserve to win in that fashion. Over on his own blog Cheesehead Displacement Syndrome, Elliott is a quizmaster with some pretty high standards himself!

Thanks for the massive compliment, I appreciate it. New quiz is ready to go tomorrow morning, too!

Thanks for the heads up - what time a day does it post?

My whole problem is once I go into work, I can't really blog much 'til after work. I do approve comments through my hotmail, but I try not to spend a lot of time surfing blogs or blogging. Because, well, I'm working!

I do like to schedule a lot of posts to publish in the daytime hours though. Makes it seem like I'm goofing off more!

I usually schedule for 8:00 eastern if I can get them written ahead of time. I've suspended the 'Google Thursday' rule for this one, everyone needs to rely on their noggins alone...

Fair enough! In fact, I'm thinking this might mean it's intrinsically more figure-outable....

That's the goal, anyway...

I know all of these and would totally get them---have gotten them, in fact, but . . . yeah, I've already done that! :( Not that there's anything wrong with your re-using, Joe. I'm just reminded every week when I think, yeah, there's that one again. I can't participate again. :sniff: It's fun for everybody else. :choke: But I have to sit on the sidelines. :sob: And look ignorant. WAH!
