OH OH!
Mel I tell you, I don't believe I've ever reacted this positively to an album on first...secondthirdfourthlisten. I am impatient to know it by heart. I want to listen 'til I'm sick of it, so I can get well with it, so I can build up a tolerance to it, so I can pile that much more on top of my higher tolerance.
It's a like a reverse catastrophic anaphylactic allergic reaction,only...spiritually.
I'll be listening to nothing but, for a bit. I deleted every other thing off my iPod, and there was plenty of room on my iPod.
I can not be bothered to hit 'skip' to get back or through to this.
I just have to stop hitting the 'back' button - I keep rewinding to the start for the pleasure of starting over! The back half of the album struck me as worthy but I keep having trouble getting to it from all the "MAN I GOT TO HEAR THAT ONE AGAIN!!!"
I understand your reaction Joe, but I would caution you to not gorge too indulgently. I feel it's best to keep just slightly below satiated. To keep a little hunger burning, providing a low heat so the passion is always smouldering . It is possible to have too much of a good thing. Even if that thing is Sia.
That's probably prudent advice for most people. I'm an unusual case where that's concerned - sometimes I'll get hit by a single song, and I can put it on repeat for hours over days, and it just gets deeper in. In this case, ...for a whole album to potentially hit me like that, right out of the box, would be utterly unprecedented. So I really need to pursue this til' its full course runs to completion.
Don't worry, I know what I'm doing!
But I appreciate the word of caution - and the concern behind it!
