I like to take a phrase that has been corrupted by sarcasm, and redeem it by the sheer force of my sincerity.

NICE ATTITUDE.

To which a valid response, said with equal sincerity, would be ...

GEE, THANKS.

Damn, Mel beat me to it.

I've decided that I just speak sarcasm naturally these days without even trying. Everything I say sounds sarcastic. I'm incapable of anything else. I blame society. And Sarah Palin. Because I blame her for everything.

@Mel - you're welcome, Mel! I love to help out in the little positive ways I can.

@VA - I think you just sound sarcastic. That happens to me all the time! I'll say something really far-too-heartfelt, and people will assume that I must be putting them on. It really works out well! I get to tell somebody something nice that I really mean, without them being made uncomfortable by it, because they think I'm giving them shit in some way!

I think maybe you've got a little of that same thing going on. A little "back-door sincerity."
