Manifesto.

Practice is the purpose of every true art. The production of works of art is just a side-effect.

I've been thinking about this one.
If you mean like if I make ten things, and maybe one out of ten is worth keeping, then I agree.

COOL. I can totally mean that! I'd say that I agree with what you're saying, that it's definitely worth doing if you can get 1 out of 10 tries to click, and the others are just effort spent towards mastery.

But I think what I'm really rock-bottom saying is that the goal of the practice of art is not to create good artworks, so much as to create the artist capable of creating good artworks. Almost that one's practice is itself a separate work, that one is working on by and while working on this piece, and the next piece, and the next.

We try to get deeper in to that groove. Technique, and meditation also. A true master must learn how to master craft with assurance, yet submit almost egolessly, almost selflessly to inspiration.

Well, that's not necessarily true of every true master. There are many paths to mastery, and one can walk one's own stride towards that misty peak.
