Budget Crisis? SOLVED.

I just figured this out. I can't believe all these so-called "Economists" are so supposedly good at math! Because how easy is this??

All we have to do is find something infinite. And then, tax it.

How easy is that? And it wouldn't even need to be a really onerous tax, either. Say, a modest 8%.

Done. Next?

I'm just waiting till they start sending us air bills that we'll have to pay in order to enjoy the government provided 'clean' air. :p

Jill, I kid you not, I wasn't in California 5 years when I saw some dude flogging his office, stating to the cameras and crowd that all citizens had a right to clean, safe water "straight from the tap!"

This was news to me, as a lot of the unincorporated areas, they don't really have water service.

Anyway.

Alright. I get your point. We should have to pay for water because of the convenience of not having to find fresh clean water in the wild. We can simply turn a knob and there it is; clear drinkable water..all in the safety of our homes. I totally get the water bill.

Here's an idea. Since we already have to buy home owners insurance if we want a house and since we are already required to pay for car insurance if we have a car, why not apply that to anything people want to have..like a big back yard grill, or a nice bicycle, or a dog. Maybe soon all pet owners will be seeing a pet tax or a pet insurance bill. lol. Just think of all the money they could rake in if they made dog owners pay for insurance. Oh and they could pass a law that required all dog owner to go to the department of dog registration and pay for license plate..err..I mean dog tags and it could be a requirement for that plate or tag to be renewed every year. They could even go further and make it required by law that all dogs are chipped and then if any dog is found to be without up to date tags, they tow the dog away and put a lean on your pet owner's license. :p

I'm just playing with you lol

Hmmmm...that's true I suppose, we do pay for convenience! But I was thinking less in terms of we should have to pay for water, and more in terms of some places, there is no public water, so it can't really be a "right."

Wait a second - on the second part, don't they do a lot of those things already? Or are pet licenses a 1-time fee? I honestly don't know.

All my pets have been "shared."
