MY GOD THE WORDS TO THE FIRST VERSE ARE ALMOST TOTALLY DIFFERENT
"Either side of the world / beat the drum if she comes to your door, make love welcome before the winter is done, something something a hope for all of the world / whistle when you have a chance"
How did I not notice this? I love both, and there are definite improvements in the final version - some of the lyrics here do feel unfinished, but, wow there are some lovely bits lost!
Hm. Now I'm listening to the other. The original lyrics seem like there is an additional aspect of calling out to another, whereas the new (album) version dwells more strongly in refuge, embrace, and the problem of escape. This is a great song.
When you're in luck, the world moves with you. When you're in love, you carry it with you.
When you're luck, the world moves with you. Whatever they want, you turn yourself into.

He knows it
Everybody knows it.
Even Noel Gallagher knows it.

And then, you're in hell.
