Aren't I the guy who used to pen songs with regularity about such topics as belly buttons, schizophrenia, procrastination, nuclear annihilation and the inevitable drudgery of its aftermath, secondhand smoke, the sinking of the Lusitania reconceived as a sex romp, carsickness, mandatory medical experimentation, female superspies, stalking via horoscope, evolution and the necessity of pushing it further, the Arch DeLuxe, killing people, and (to give one title) "The Dawn of the Attack of the Endangered Species List"? I mean, what gives with all the love songs lately?
Okay I admit, on some level all of the above songs are probably also love songs. I guess it's just a thing with me. I'm a love song kind of guy. What am I going to do?
