Yet Another Tolkien Appreciation

Every time I return yet again to re-read J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece, The Lord of The Rings, I am struck by the timeless beauty of the description - everything seen as through a high, clear air! - by the stirring sweep and grandeur of the action, by the epic inventiveness of the plot, and by what a whiny little bitch Frodo is.

Frankly, I just tend to skip those boring-ass trudge-we-now-endlessly-towards-and-through-Mordor sections. All that Samming and Golluming around. Pass.

Yeah dude, I've long since harbored a suspicion that Frodo grew up to be Danny DeVito.... Only less funny and more whiny.

Wait a second. You're saying that Frodo...?

Oh wait, no, never mind. I got it!

No I'm just picturing Danny DeVito making that shocked, sad expression..."It's that old wraith knife-wound of mine, in the shoulder...I will never entirely be free of it...Ah, it's that damn spider-stab on my hip...! I will never entirely be free of it...oh, the Ring, the Ring..."

You know what I don't think I've ever seen? Danny DeVito, acting his ass off.
